REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL: Freeway Art Project, Interstate 5 Willamette River Bridge

OBEC Consulting Engineers is requesting proposals from qualified artists or artist teams for design and implementation of art for the I-5: Willamette River Bridge in Lane County, Oregon, with the theme and proposed name of Whilamut Passage Bridge. This is an open RFP with a proposal receipt deadline of November 17, 2010.

The art budget for the Freeway Art Project (Bundle One – Freeway Art Zones) is $500,000.

Art Zones bordering the Interstate freeway near the bridge structure, within the I-5 Willamette River Bridge project, are available for commissioned art.

Recommended informational meetings with Kalapuyas, ODOT, OBEC will be held in Eugene on October 25, 2010.

OBEC is currently under contract with ODOT to design the replacement bridge. OBEC is an EEO employer and strongly encourages participation by disadvantaged, minority, women-owned and emerging small business (DMWESB) individuals/firms.
