What are some good art classes for teens?
I am 13, and I am interested in attending art classes after school. But not AT school, at any place that teaches people how to draw well! I am interested in the whole pastels, or painting type. I want to learn how to draw sunsets, and moonlights, and stars, and also those portraits that look like their a thousand years old. I live New Jersey, and I have NO idea what my interest in learning is even called, or even know where any art classes in New Jersey are! So, please help me find some places in New Jersey that I can attend. But remember, I have to be able to go to school. HELP!
Community colleges have classes that are for college credit but they also have community classes which are for everyone, teens and adults alike, often held in the evenings after school and work for everyone. your best bet is to start off in Drawing I and they'll teach you. I use pastels and I loooooove them!!! I use many, many different art tools and nothing compares to the feeling of putting down pastels and the way the blend? Ahhh....heaven!
You may also want the beginner's pastel book by Jackie Simmons, Pastel School by Hazel Harrison or Pastel for the Serious Beginner until you find the perfect class.
